Tips for paddling in Vänersborg

• Tour suggestion full day: Paddle along the eastern side of Lake Vänern with evening sun, past Skräcklan and small islands. NOTE: Be observant of current water down towards Vargön. DANGER avoid this area!
• Then follow the edge along Halleberg, after a few hours of paddling you reach Nordkroken and further up when you have rounded Hallesnipen you will find Gaddesanna; both are beautiful beaches.
• Suggested longer overnight trip: Paddle the western side of Lake Vänern. Cross the fairway, paddle to Dalbobergen. Paddle on to Grönvik marina.
• Continue to beautiful Ursand with its campsite, café and restaurant. Further up along the west side to Sjung- Sjung, and finally to Sikhall's fine bathing place.

• Adapt your paddling based on wind strength, wind direction and boat traffic.
• Always use a sprayskirt (located in the kayak), fasten it high above your waist and make sure it fits tightly around the cockpit rim.
• Our tandem kayaks are a better option than single kayaks for inexperienced paddlers as they are more stable and can handle side waves better.
• We are located at Skräcklan, near Norra skolan in the centre of Vänersborg. There is a small beach for launching and a toilet.
• Park in the center on the square or along the streets around Skräcklan. At Sanden there is free parking. During the summer, Skräcklestugan is open with good food and coffee every day.
