Safety guidelines
Kayaking and SUP-paddling is easy, especially on a calm day and with our stable and beginner friendly equipment. Safety is priority number one, so make sure you review our guidelines before you head out on the water, even if you’ve paddled before.
Stay close to shore
Stay close to the shore and stay out of motorboat paths. Always attach the wrist tether connected to the paddle, and if you are paddling on a SUP be sure to attach the ankle tether as well.
Wear a life jacket
Always wear a life jacket and do not exceed its weight capacity. This is your most important safety tool on the water.
Paddle together
Paddle with company, or make sure you are confident with self-rescue techniques if paddling alone.
Plan Ahead: Check the Forecast
Wear clothing appropriate to the conditions. Check the weather forecast before going out and plan your route accordingly. Do not paddle when the water is too cold or when it's too windy.
Paddle sober and in daylight
Do not paddle after dark. Do not paddle while intoxicated.
Paddle at own risk
You always paddle at your own risk. Practice self-rescue and re-boarding before going out. For sit-in kayaks, a paddle float is provided.
